Our mission is to ensure that our students receive the best martial arts training that we can provide. This training includes
Ed Parker American Kenpo, Kickboxing (inclusive of Muay Thai Techniques) and Brazilian Grappling.
Our foundation is Ed Parker
American Kenpo and we strive to provide our students with a standardized base of knowledge and teaching, while allowing personal
preference, expression, and variable expansion within the Art. Our parent organization is the AKTS, (American Kenpo Training
System) led by Master John Sepulveda.
The American Kenpo Training System (AKTS) was founded by John Sepulveda, Master in the
Art. Mr. Sepulveda has trained in Kenpo since the early 1960's, studying directly with Senior Grandmaster Edmund Parker,
the founder of American Kenpo Karate.
The instructors at Santa Clara Kenpo Karate work to provide students with a solid base
of understanding from both a traditional and progressive perspective within martial arts. We emphasize mastering the basics,
self defense, physical fitness, and fighting skills within a safe and controlled environment that will allow the student to develop
at a pace appropriate for each individual.
Adults and juniors train in separate classes. The kenpo portion of our training
is regulated by belt levels. The kickboxing and grappling classes are not belt level specific and open to all adults and those
juniors who have received approval to attend from a senior instructor.
