We do not claim to be experts and we do not hold black belt ranking from any formal Brazilian schools. Several of our instructors
have trained and received belt ranking in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools. Our objective is to simply train in the art, become better
and assist each other with developing our technique and abilities.
Most of the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu address
grappling on the ground. There are some takedowns, self-defense techniques, and striking, but the core of the art involves improving,
maintaining, or defending ground positions; along with submissions such as chokes, armlocks and leg/ankle locks.

Saturday morning (after Kickboxing class) provided an instructor is available.
Students may enroll in the Grappling only
or attend the class as part of the total Santa Clara Kenpo Karate integrated martial arts program. We highly recommend that
a student pursue an integrated program in order to develop a broad range of skill sets.
